Whitehall Farm is mentioned in the will of George
Spitty proved in 1855 where is was written phonetically as "White
Hole". From Randal Bingley's book on Fobbing page 183 - "George
Spitty, landlord of Whitehall" thus confirming the mis-spelling in
the will.
