Kingell Wood is mentioned in the wills of Richard Spitty in 1657 and in the ERO documents of Richard Spitty in 1703 :- D/DB/T436/11 & D/DB/T436/12.

Described as containing by estimation eleven acres be it more or less. And also one messuage or tenement with the yard and backside unto the same belonging. Adjoining North East end of Clements Common, with liberty and passage to highway called Green Street, formerly part of demesne of manor of Plomborowe.
