Prenuptial Settlement
(i)Thomas Spitty of Bowers Gifford, gentleman; (ii) Mary James of
Prittlewell, widow; (iii) Joseph Hazwell of North Benfleet, clerk,
and William Massa of Brentwood, baker
Provides, inter alia, that (i) will settle on (iii) before 20
March 1712/3 a freehold estate to the yearly value of £45 for the
securing of payment of £700 for use of Thomas, Samuel and Mary
James (children of (ii) by her late husband John James, deceased)
to be paid when they reach age of 21 years or day of their
marriage, whichever shall be the sooner
