EIGHTH GENERATION

William GALBREATH was born about 1745¹. He was buried on 14 March 1785 in Bunhill Fields Cemetery, Finsbury, London¹.

That William is the brother of Thomas of Islington is confirmed by the Bunhill Fields Monumental Inscriptions². Here William is listed on the same monument as Thomas' son :-
Old Monument or another monument (?), listed separately from rest of Thomas' family. However the parent's names and address clearly identify Archibald as Thomas' son.
- Archibald Galbreath Son of Thomas & Mary Ann of Islington 2 1/2 mths 1785.
- William Galbreath G. the father. M.A. the mother 1786 age 40.

The above M.I. includes the somewhat cryptic "G. the father. M.A. the mother". Are these William's (& hence Thomas') parents initials?

William's occupation has been recorded as :-
Scotch Factor (London Directory 1781, Will 1785)

116 & 130 Wood St, Cheapside, London (London Directory 1781)
Wood St, London (Burial & Will 1785)

His Last Will and Testament was proven in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury on the 10 March 1785.
