TWELFTH GENERATION


Francis HALL was bapt. on the 5 Feb 1614/5 in Bulkington, Warwickshire, England.

Francis's origins were revealed in a dispute in the Suffolk (Con) County Court - see the Aspinall records.

He emigrated in 1639 from England to Fairfield, Connecticut, USA. In 1640 Francis joined Roger Ludlow in the enterprise of planting a settlement at the head of a small inlet on Long Island Sound, which they named Fairfield.

12th of April 1654, Francis Hall and Elizabeth his wife, bought of Thomas Wheeler for £48, paid by said Francis Hall and Elizabeth his wife of Stratford a farm in Fairfield. The NE part of Fairfield, a Parish called Stratford, afterward owned by his son Samuel.

4th March 1664 in A.B. p 397 :-
"Francis Hall of Fairfield does acknowledge to have formerly sold a house and land in England which was in jointure confirmed upon his wife Elizabeth at our marriage in consideration whereof I make over all unto my said wife all my housing and land, within the liberties of Fairfield..." In 1685 Francis gifted two parcels of land to Ebenezer Blackman. [See transcript]

Francis died sometime between making the will 1686 and probate in 1689. [Transcript of his will]

He was married to Elizabeth PICK on 15 Apr 1634 in Bulkington.
