This is a free subscription mailing list, run by Rootsweb, a division of Ancestry.com. It is the principal genealogy mailing list service, of long standing and has a good reputation. The number of email messages you receive will be very low, and intermittent. There is no advertising or spam associated with Rootsweb mailing lists.

You will then receive a confirmation email with instructions for posting your own messages, which I repeat here :-
